PLUTO ENTERS AQUARIUS: Navigating Technological Marvels, the Environmental Crises and the Dark Side of Progress

Pluto reenters Aquarius on January 21st, heralding a once-in-a-lifetime astrological milestone that stargazers have circled on their calendars. It signals a seismic shift, propelling us towards a fast and progressive future.

Earlier in 2023, from March to June, Pluto dipped its toes into Aquarius, giving us some clues about the developments we might expect. Now, as Pluto continues its journey through its 20-year stint in Aquarius, we can look back on those months to anticipate the transformations that await us, except for a momentary step back when Pluto retrogrades into Capricorn from September to November.

Pluto is currently wrapping up its Capricorn chapter at 29 degrees. In astrology, this is the anaretic degree—it’s the final, intense stretch of a sign’s influence, packing a punch with lessons about power structures and societal norms. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, teaching us about the pitfalls and pressures of working in big corporations with minimal benefit for the average person, the excesses of society’s fat cats, the influence of the big banks, dominating governmental rule, cultural segregation, and major cover-ups. While in Aquarius, we can expect Pluto to expose and dismantle these structures.

Pluto’s two-decade-long trip through Aquarius invites us to listen to the needs of society’s underdogs, ensuring that the march of progress doesn’t leave them behind. As the zodiac champion of the people, Aquarius promises to knit together communities, ensuring every voice is heard and valued, and paving the way for collective progress and innovative solutions.

Additionally, we are on the brink of groundbreaking advancements in science and medicine. Anticipate major leaps in technology, with robots surpassing human abilities and AI redefining our understanding of humanity.

As we witness extraordinary advancements, we will also see a collective shift towards addressing the environmental crises. The same ingenuity that drives our technological and scientific progress will be applied to combating climate change, leading to innovative and sustainable solutions that protect our planet’s health.

Yet, we must also turn a critical eye to the dark side of progress. The flip side of innovation is the risk that it won’t always be used for the greater good. Throughout 2024, staying on top of threats like deepfakes, advanced voice recognition, and the escalating tide of cybercrime is crucial. We need to be smart about how we adopt and adapt to the impending changes.

In essence, Pluto’s journey through Aquarius is not just about getting excited for the next tech breakthrough; it’s about steering those breakthroughs in a direction that uplifts society as a whole. It’s a time for each of us to be both enthusiastic about the future and mindful of the power we have to shape it.
